Keeping a child healthy and safe is our number one priority, especially during these times of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

We encourage everyone to participate in protecting their child against diseases and illnesses, like COVID-19. By everyone, we mean parents, school educators, therapists, and even transportation drivers.

If you are a parent, the motherly or fatherly care instinct starts to kick in once you suspect that your child is experiencing sickness. We feel them too!

For the second episode of the first podcast show, podcast digital marketing expert, Jack Hakimian, sits down with Day Espinal of Kids Miracle Steps to discuss how to keep the kids safe from COVID-19 and the measures to do once a child gets sick.

Tune in and listen to this podcast episode to know more about COVID-19 and your kids.

Protecting kids during COVID-19

“If your child has a fever, let’s talk about it,” Day Espinal, the Operations Director of Kids Miracle Steps said.

Day shared that she gets a lot of questions about what to do if a child is a COVID-19 positive. Although Kids Miracle Steps can provide medical attention once a child gets sick, they would not sacrifice the safety of the child, the other children, and the staff. Given the nature of transmission of COVID-19, they can't risk it.

The pediatric medical daycare is clear on well-rounded communication. So if your child goes to Kids Miracle Steps and possesses the COVID-19 virus, Day suggests talking directly to the organization to see whether parents can bring their sick child to the daycare.

“We try our best and sometimes, our best is the best that we can do,” Day added.

What to do if your child is sick or has COVID-19?

If a child is sick, Kids Miracle Steps performs immediate action to ensure that the child is away from the other children.

“We’ll kind of, I wouldn’t say isolate, because isolate is not a good word. But we try to keep them away from everybody else,” Day mentioned.

Sometimes, the child might just have allergies. But it is important to be proactive and take the necessary precautions. What Kids Miracle Steps do during these situations are observations and monitoring.
